Leslie Banks graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1975 and was licensed in Texas in 1975.
She has held the following positions:
Criminal Defense Attorney, Lockhart 2014-present;
Assistant United States Attorney (Federal Prosecutor) for the Southern District of Texas, Houston 1987-1992;
Judge of County Court at Law No. 1, Austin, 1982-1987;
Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3, Austin, 1977-1982;
Assistant County Attorney, Travis County, Austin 1975-1977.

The Bankses have lived in Lockhart since 2006 and practice exclusively before the District Judge (Chris Schneider) who handles felonies, and the County Court at Law Judge (Barbara Molina) who handles misdemeanors.
Richard Banks was elected to two terms on the Lockhart City Council and served from 2008 to 2014. Leslie Banks is the President of Lockhart Cause for Paws, a nonprofit corporation devoted to animal rescue.
The Bankses work as hired counsel only and do not accept court appointments.
